The reason I ask is that Napoleon has gotten bigger since we brought him home...bigger not in the sense of "plump" (LOL, that's Cassie's job), but longer and seems to be growing into his body.

They estimated his age to be 3 y/o but by the way he a.) acts and b.) has grown, I wonder if they could have guessed wrong? Any ideas?

Its possible he could have grown more once he came to your home. Emma was over one when we got her but since she was a stray she was undernourished. Once she got to our house aka Easy Street and could eat her fill, she not only filled out but has seemed to "stretch" a little, like you're describing with Napoleon.

It's also possible they could have over-estimated his age a bit...its kind of hard to tell the age of cats definitively.

Thanks Olly. I figured there was some kind of methodology they would use to guesstimate a cat's age...but judging by his personality too (he is a hyperactive, bites-everything kind of kitty), I would presume he was younger than 3 too.

The "guesstimate" may have been way off, but from what I understand, some breeds, like the Maine Coon, only reach their full size at around 3.

I've heard Curls are like that too, not being done until 2 or 3.

That would explain why Luci is still getting bigger. o.o

Mine are both just plain ole Tabbies...and just over a year old...and they both seem to be still growing.

What food do you feed them?

Nutro dry food, and Innova wet food for Napoleon (he'll eat anything) and Cassie gets the Nutro wet food. They mostly eat dry though

I have a Ragdoll (mixed w./ Siamese) and they do not typically reach their full growth level until age 4. So...you could possibly even see more growth yet.

Wow. Alfie is only 6 months old, if he keeps growing for another year or two he'll be the size of a tiger
