I've seen some people with more than 27,000 posts (I only WISH to have that many!
) But I dont think I've seen anyone with more than that, but I could be very wrong!

How many posts do you have, I would like to see who has the most!

I joined this August, and I have 1,110 posts!

Everyone knows how addictive this place really is!

Heh. I "only" have 80-something here.

It hasn't even been a year on another forum I frequent and I've got 11146 as of this writing. But then, they're way more active than this one, and I have entirely too many friends there for my own good. Haha.

Maybe someday we'll get up to 27,000

We try not to emphasize post count.
We would always prefer someone make fewer but very meaningful and/or helpful posts than someone to just spam it up and get a huge number of posts. And I have to say, our membership is so wonderful that probably 95%+ of the post counts you see are from quality posts.

Call me stupid, but why is it important to get lots of numbers of posts?

I honestly don't even ever check my posts and would be hard-pressed to even guess how many I have without clicking on one of my replies to see.

I guess I just never thought it was important.

It's not important really. It's just another fun topic to be able to talk about, to me. I mean, anyone can rack up 1 or 2 hundred by being a twit and spamming. But 27k is a huge number, and to me it shows that someone really is that dedicated to the community, whatever community it is.

Sorry if you guys thought we meant to encourage spamming.

I feel really bad, I really don't find it important, I just find it so interesting that this site has so many dedicated members that have such quality posts that help so many of us.

I never ment to encourage non-important or spamming posts

I agree that there are a lot of dedicated folks at this site but I didn't look at the posts to figure that out.

I don't think anyone thought you were promoting spamming BabyHarley.

I'm inching toward the 8,000 mark, and somehow that appalls me. Am I spending too much time here, and neglecting my husband, furbabies, and job? Have I made too many irrelevant posts? Quality should definitely take precedence over quantity, but I doubt that a lot of my posts fit into the "quality" category.

I remember when i "had" to reach 1,000 this was about a year ago

Now I actually don´t even realise what my posts are on..
I have started to post alot less recently, I mainly browse now and put my two cents worth if I think its necessary

Tricia I agree also, I think the internet actually takes away alot of quality time with family.
This was also a big reason why Ben and I broke up

Well as the one with the posting count mentioned in this thread, I don't believe you were spamming, just interested. So please don't feel bad. I have been here a long time which is why the posting count is so high. I try to help people with cats when they run into trouble and very rarely just post one word or two in a post if I can help it.

I also used to care a lot about post count, but seriousely I hardly notice it now. It's definitly much more important to have quality posts.

I think it's also because it's like you get a little `treat' when you reach a certain number of posts - you know, most of us are excited when we get to Alpha Cat, Super Cat or Top Cat!! It makes you feel like part of something important and special.

Nothing wrong with that!
