Sorry it's not a kitten, guys - I haven't been able to win that fight with Max yet, but here's our new little boy - black Labradoodle puppy.

His name's Chester and he's Ruby's new brother and friend...

He's sitting on my lap with his big front paws around my neck as I type....sweet little man

Well, Ruby (in her overwhelming excitement) tried to squish her new friend earlier and scared the little legs off him. We're thinking slow introductions might be best for now!!!

Bless her!
I hope he's not to shaken by the experience!

Nope - he's just put himself to bed in the bathroom - Ruby used to do that too!! It's so uncanny how they are like clones of each other and they're not even related! It must be a breed thing...

Those Labardoodles are the cutest dogs! What a little cuddle bug. Hope Ruby and her new brother get along well. And what do the kitties have to say about him?

How PRECIOUS!!! His fur just looks so soft and cuddley!! So you have another dog of this same breed? I've never heard of it, but I'm assuming a poodle and lab mix. How big do they get? (Sorry for all the questions!)

Yep we've now got two Labradoodles. They're actually considered a purebred now in Australia - they were intially bred to be hypoallergenic seeing-eye dogs - because Poodles don't shed and have wool, not fur.

Our babies will get big because they are both Standard Labradoodles. If the lab is bred with a miniature poodle it ends up smaller, and with a toy smallest of all. Although that is hardly ever done because the size discrepancy is too extreme. Standards are the most common.

They'll get about as big as a regular standard poodle.

They ARE very soft - and the most beautiful natured dogs I've ever known. I always have had German Shepherds (who I still love!) but Labradoodles are just in a class of their own! They're truly beautiful - gorgeous lab natures with the silliness and intelligence of poodles. Wonderful!!

This is Ruby...
