I can imagine the expression on some of your faces! WHAT!!???

I, and all of the women on my mother side of the family have "unicorn" toenails on our little toes. This means that the nail does not grown normally as the rest do, but grows straight up. If I don't trime it often it rubs my shoes... and well looks like a unicorn horn.

So I am curious, how many other of you are out there?

I've never heard of it either.

I ahve an obsession with my toenails.. they ahcve to be cut as short as they possibly can.. I don't even know why I am like that. My little toe barely has any nail on it.

I too have been blessed...er...um....cursed with the "unicorn toenail" on my pinky toe. Although until now, I never knew what to call it!! LOL It drives me nuts because when I paint my toenails, its very hard to paint one that grows straight up, and when I clip it off, its hardly there at all, so I usually only have four toes painted on each foot!!
My husband pokes fun at me!!

Now I know my little toenail has a special name. I will never take it for granted again. :p

i don't have a unicorn toenail but both my pinky toenails look like little parrot beaks if i don't keep them trimmed, they stick out a lot and the ends are pointed, they are also very thick

i try to paint them but they never look that great and my husband always teases me about them, i also have very tiny ears, i can't even keep my hair behind them and you can't see them if i'm facing you

my husband also has a great time teasing me about them too and will say 'awwww, wook at the tiny wittle ears!' then he will proceed to pinch them

I have that problem too! Be careful though, if you cut your big toenails too short, esp. in the corners, you can get ingrown toenails which are no fun

I have that same obsession. I HATE to see long toenails - it creeps me out! *shudder*

I have normal flat toenails LOL

Me too, I hate feet in general but long toenails make me cringe. Long fingernails on men also make me cringe, no idea why!

Under the cats, mostly.
I've been pretty lucky with my little toe.... I don't really have much of a nail on it at all! My other four toes are long with your normal regular nails on them... but my little toes are really really short in comparison and the nail is just as bad. I keep all my nails trimmed short because I like to keep my socks for as long as I can

My Mum had a "unicorn" toenail, I didn't know it had a name either. My daughter inherited it, but no one else has. Sje's expecting a baby next March, so once we know it' strong and healthy, I'll be checking out it's pinky nails too.

My daughter also inherited a tied tongue from her Dad, funny how things pass on isn't it? She got both, and my son got neither. He just got one off quirks, I guess he wanted to be different

Me too - I just want to take a clipper to peoples toe nails!

I am so glad I am not the only one with a unicorn nail. I just trimmed them - so you will have to wait a bit for a picture.
Maybe one of my fellow unicornian's can help out with a picture.
