Besides the obvious telltale signs in the litter box...what else should I be concerned with in thinking my kitty might have parasites?

well obvious seeing worms or worm segments in the stool is a big one...

diarreah can be a symptom of various parasites....

Lathargy or white gums can be a sign of hookworms or fleas....

leaving rice looking things all over the place is tapeworm

Vomiting can be another symptom of various parasites.....

and inching of the face, along with loloss of heair around the eyes can be domodex...

why do you ask...what are you seeing???

Thanks Nebula...yummy!!!!
Actually, I ask because...well my dad's cat was just diagnosed with parasites and he had no idea...it was caught in a routine exam for his annual.

Napoleon has been eating quite a lot and while his poops haven't been entirely runny, they haven't been entirely consistent either.

He seems fine otherwise, but I thought maybe -- because in humans, I know tapeworm causes increased appetite -- that might be a sign for cats. I'm just monitoring him and if I see any cause for concern, off to the vet he goes.

Yeah sometimes parasites dont show symptoms....like roundworm.....

as for nepoleon...I would watch the cnsistancy...if it doesnt become solid soon I would bring him to the vet for a check up.....Diarreah doesnt nessesarily mean parasites, but it usually indicates a problem........

I am also wondering if Blu has parasites. She eats ALOT and her poo is kind of soft. She also drags her bottom and we have ruled out glands, infection, and worms so far. I am going to take a stool sample to the vet on her next visit for a test.
