I got my navel pierced in July! (I'm in my early 30s and this is the first and only "crazy" thing I've ever done and plan to do - no more piercings or tattoos, etc.!) I'm such a chicken that I haven't even told my folks about it, ha ha! My husband has yet to see it (he's stationed overseas), but he knows about it. Anyone else?

Mine's still healing - I'm using sea salt soaks and diluted tea tree oil.

My navel is pierced, also! I love it. It's been pierced for about four years now (wow, how time flies!). I will never forget how sensitive it was for weeks afterwards as it healed. Ouchie! But now, it's perfect.
Just something I've noticed with myself....If I change my body wash, I tend to get an infection. Don't know why, I don't have particulary sensitive skin or anything. So I just soak it nightly with sea salt when I get a new body wash.

Enjoy it. I love them!

I had my naval pierced when I was 18..I don't have it anymore though..I did learn the valuable lesson to go to a reputable place though, I had mine done at some ladies house, she didn't do a good job and put in a super cheap ring. It was infected for 6 months straight before I finally had enough and took it out.

I love mine, too. I'm a very conservative person otherwise, but I feel a little bit of glee at knowing that no one would ever guess I have one!

How long did yours take to fully heal? Do you change out your jewelry often or wear the same one?

I have a little bump on mine and the tea tree oil is helping, but my piercer wants to change the ring to a curved barbell. I'm hoping it doesn't hurt much to change it now, since it's not healed yet (and well, that's the reason he wants to change it, actually - because the ring seems to be irritating it more because it's leaning to the side)!

Oh, that's not good,
but I'm glad it wasn't a serious infection/problem (I always say, it could be worse, you know?). The place I went was verrrry clean and professional-looking, like a doctor's exam room. Yes, if anyone is reading this and is planning to get theirs done, you really have to do your research! And make sure you ask if they do autoclaving to sterilize the equipment - very important!

Yep yep yep!! I have my ears pierced 11 times, my nose three times and my navel twice. Bit of overkill you might say. I also have three tattoos.

I only wear my first two sets of ear-piercings, though. I've kind of grown out of all the others, but the holes are all still there....put me in a swimming pool and I sink to the bottom!!!

The grossest thing I ever did was get my nose pierced straight over the top of a piercing that had been accidentally torn out. God you don't know the meaning of pain until you've done that!!! Hehehe....the things we'll do

I have my navel pierced as well! I've had mine for two years now and I absolutely love it! I've never had a moments problem out of it. I didn't even feel it when he pierced it, it wasn't sore afterwards and I've never had the least bit of an infection! I read somewhere that redheads are more tolerable to pain so maybe thats why mine never hurt, but maybe it was also because I had a great body arts guy do mine...I dunno, but I love it!!

When I've got a nice flat tummy again (yeah, in my dreams) I want to resurrect the belly-button piercing with a nice diamond drop pendant - they look fantastic, I think!

I used to have:
bellybutton, nose, two ear-lobes on each side, my rook pierced (cartilage on your ear right above your ear hole) and the cartilage on my upper left ear.
Took em all out except for two regular earring holes. Sometimes I miss my nose piercing, but I just feel like I kinda outgrew it.

6 x ears (first set 22 yrs ago, but got infected and Let the holes grow back together; but then I had them done again about 18 yrs ago; next set I had done 14 yrs ago and then I had two more on one side 11 yrs ago - so its two on one side and 4 on the other, but i just use 1 on one side and three on the other (the second set I daone I don't use anymore... it's just too much for the eye))
1 x navel (had it done 8 yrs ago, wanted to have the tongue pierced, but got scared and had the belly done instead
)
1 x tongue (had it done 7 yrs ago as a present to myself for finishing my apprenticeship, and boy was that a 'cool' feeling when I felt the needle go thru
)

all healed well and I thank the piercers for doing such a great job and giving me good advice on the care

would love to do more, but I can't have anything 'visible' due to job

had also thought of getting a tatoo around my belly button - a lizard, but thought in case I got pregnant (ever!) I'd have a DINOSAUR on my belly... not a nice thought

I used to have my nose pierced, but I eventually got bored with it. Like piercings though.

Under the cats, mostly.
I have my navel done, my ears done twice and my nose was done three times before I gave up on it. I had it done, and then it would heal up.... so there was never more than the one piercing in my nose at any given time.

Navel pierced, did have my ears done but I don't wear earrings any more. Would love to have had my tongue done but I have to look professional so it was out of the question. One tattoo

I have my belly button pierced three times, my nipple, my tongue, my lip, my nose, my ears three times in one lobe and two in the other, the cartilage of my right ear and my tragus.

I also had my other tragus done and my rook and another cartilage piercing, but sadly, they were ripped out! *sigh*

Clare, you can get tongue retainers that hide your piercing for when you want to look professional!

Nooooooo don't tell me things like that! You know how much willpower I have!

Mind you, the pain involved may make this one easier to resist than my Nintendogs

True, I'm just being a bad influence!

It dosn't really hurt much at all and they will use anaesthetic to actually do the piercing!
I was able to eat normally the same day (although others have srtuggled for a while!)
