I must have left my towel too close to the hamster cage when I put it out too dry this morning (we put the hamster in the bathroom because he likes to play the amazing escape artist and chase Boomer around so they need to be separated when we aren't around to keep an eye on them
)

This is what I came home to:

Its a good thing it was just an old towel I used to dry my hands this morning because the others were not done in the dryer yet! He had over half the towel pulled into his cage and had chewed those big holes... all this in 9 hours!

I still can't quite work out how his little hamster paws managed to get the towel - I am sure it wasn't that close to him

He looks oh so sweet and innocent, doesn't he... with those evil red eyes

He was bored. And nine hours to do it. But I will agree he must have been a very busy little boy.

Ha, ha, ha!!! My son had 2 rats that were near his bed. 3 times they managed to pull his comforter into their cage and chew big holes too! Rodents just love to naw on things!!! Maybe you should put some twigs in his cage to chew on. They like those.

He has twigs, and chews, and nibble bars and everything else imaginable already - maybe he just prefers towels - he can keep it now though!

They make these "Booda" toys for dogs and birds, my birds really love to shread them up. Maybe they make something like that for hamsters? If not, browse the bird or dog aisle of the pet store.

Yeah he gets along fine with them, the first time he managed to escape (with a little help from Boomer I would imagine) he was riding around on Boomer's back and the only one to pay attention was Magnum who hissed and ran away

I got the fright of my life when the hamster ran across the bed and was running around in the middle of the night trying to catch him thinking the cats would eat him... I find him on Boomer with Magnum running under the sofa... if only I had a camera

If anything the cats are scared of him - they have got a good smack on the nose or a little nip for putting their noses/ears/paws too close to the cage
