This little kitten and littermates managed to survive the hurricane but someone posing or was a contractor stole the kitten. Some days, people disgust me!!

STOLEN MALE KITTEN
NOT FULLY WEANED
BLACK WITH GREY STRIPES
LONG FUR
WHITE TIP ON CHIN AND FEET
ROUNDED EARS
FUZZY HAIR ON EARS AND FACE AND TAIL
VERY PRETTY MARKINGS, WOULD BE 9.5 WEEKS OLD 'NOW'
[email protected]

***TAKEN ON OCTOBER 9TH FROM ANITA'S HOME IN PASCAGOULA MISSISSIPPI**
*KITTEN MAY BE IN THE PENSACOLA AREA OF FLORIDA NOW with someone who may own or have a friend who owns a white BMW Sedan*

*WAITING FOR UPDATED PICTURE OF KITTEN*

A man described as white possible 30's grabbed the kitten and ran to a waiting vehicle where another white male was driving & took off.

Car is described as:
White BMW, early model (atleast 2000)
4 door sedan with FLORIDA plates
2 White male occupants!

*The day previous their roof was tarped by contractors working for the 'blue roof' project. They said they were the 'last' house they had to do and were leaving the next day for PENSACOLA FLORIDA!!*

These men who stole the kitten MAY be from this group of contractors.
Please spread the news and information.

Anita was having her morning coffee with the kittens and mama cat and her puppy Judge out on the patio (well whats left of it). She went indoors to get a refill of coffee. Her husband Dave saw someone approach the yard, he ran downstairs but it was too late.

It's my belief that these individuals will probably try to pass this kitten off as a stray and unwanted survivor of the hurricane, rather then the reality of it being someones kitten that was STOLEN!!!

This was reported to the local police in Pascagoula.

Contact: [email protected]

WHITE BMW SEDAN WITH FLORIDA PLATES and these folks were RECENTLY IN PASCAGOULA MISSISSIPPI PLEASE CONTACT ME BY EMAIL DO NOT APPROACH OR WARN THESE INDIVIDUALS. PLEASE RECORD THE LICENCE PLATE!

Permission to crosspost this EVERYWHERE!!

This is a joke right!

First of all why would an unweaned little kitten be out in the yard all by itself while everyone else was on the patio.

I could understand it SOMEWHAT if the cat were a rare breed or something of that nature, but a little moggy! I think someone's having their leg pulled on this one.

I smell a rat here!

This is NOT a hoax. I am not silly enough to place a hoax and to be honest, I am kind of upset anyone would assume that. I am a professional and do not take anything like this lightly. This happened to someone I know in Mississippi. Perhaps her poster is a little badly done but she is not in the best frame of mind. She lost her home and this happened really quickly - It's possible the kitten should not have been where it was but everything happened so quickly. This famiy has lost almost everything and is experiencing a diificult time (as many are) with FEMA and the Red Cross just to obtain needed help to rebuild. They should not suffer because whoever developed this bulletin - another friend - did a poor job of it.

I was hoping people would be compassionate to her plight. Sadly, it appears I was wrong - I am shaking as I write this and this rarely happens to me. I am just so upset anyone would think Anita's situation is a hoax. Where was she supposed to bring her kittens - leave them alone like too many others did? My God!!!!!

(Not sure what you mean by link to photo - there is none)

I have not written about my experiences in Lousiana because it was so horrible - but I will - and as I write this, they come flooding back. I always thought this was a supportive place but when I actually post something for a friend - only because I know her as an animal lover and very kind human being whom people across involved with another animal group I know are helping (They sent some materials with me and later with FedEx, the Cdn Red Cross being as helpful as the US one, in other words not at all, to help get the family thru a time with destroyed home.) There are countless people taking advantage of those who have lost so much and I too was utterly amazed and appalled that some contractor would steal a kitten but it's happen. Strange but true. I offered to post it here for her and I am almost sorry I did - I still hope someone from Pensacola might read it and know these people.

This is the link and it is no good. Maybe they just typed it wrong. Also, no one is being unsensitive here, please calm down. I have seen this type of thing far to many times and most of the time, they are a hoax. Here is why I felt or feel it is/was a hoax. First, the poster gives in great detail, the description of the car; Color, approx year, how many doors and that it had Florida plates and that there was 2 white males. All this information, but no license plate number. I work for a police department and when something happens to someone like this, it is very rare for people to get much information at all. They may get the color of the car or make, or they may get a description of the driver, but never get all of this information at once. Also, the link did not work. So, that is why I had my feelings. No one here is making light of this situtation.

I did ask about that - thinking like me someone made typos - but apparently it does happen?? What can I say? Maybe the stress of the hurricane? Who knows? It did affect animals in most unusual ways but I have no scientific evidence that this is the reason. I can only vouch for the owner of this kitten who is a wonderful person who has cared for animals all her life and rescued many more!

Thx Amber - I know what you mean re: details. I have worked in any ER stuations where victims of violence, esp children could recall little information. I think in this case there were so many witnesses that this is the reason - and I wondered if if the catnappers just wanted to hurt the kitten, rather than steal it since it is not a rare pure bred. It just seemed strange but I know this woman and she is not one to embellish - she even plays down her own needs post Katrina.

The link is mine and that is likely my poor typing - I will try to fix it. I uploaded the picture to my Yahoo account and maybe it does not work. Let me try again. It works for me - not sure why it does not work for you, maybe because it is in my cache. Let me uplaod it again.

I did not read the entire thing - just uploaded it. (Wondering what I have got myself into and I am due to see a patient in 2 minutes!)

It seems the poster shows a vehicle LIKE the one the contractors were driving. With all witness accounts, I cannot vouch for the reliability. They may have a reason to know with certanty.

I hope a picture of the kitten will be found soon tho a tabby kitten might be tough to find, admittedly.

(I just realized I am over 1000 posts, lol)

Yes, it works now. If this kitten was taken, I don't even want to mention what more than likely happened to it. People can be and many times are, the worst living creatures on earth. That is, except for us animal lovers.

John, it is sad to say but you are so right - there are so many out there that perpetrate these things on an unsuspecting public. A lot of people are taken in by them and not necessarily just uneducated people either.

I remember the one of the child that was dying and was trying to collect as many business cards as he could before he died. Well 10 years after the first notice of his impending death we were still getting requests for business cards and the MBA's in management were taken in as well as us "little" people.

Because of these types of things unfortunately a lot of us have become wary and cynical and in your profession, John, I'm sure you see a lot more than we do and have even more reason to disbelieve.

CommonOddity042 posted: not fully weaned at 9.5 weeks?
Just wanted to make a quick statement about this. I adopted my kitten from a shelter, who said she was 10-11 weeks old. Turns out she was probably closer to 9 or so. But the point being, when I went and picked her out she was still in a cage with her mom and siblings, and was still suckling. If the mom and baby/ies are left together, and the mom does not stop it, the kittens will continue to suckle longer than they should. Just wanted to give that info! I hope that this kitten is found, b/c I know how quickly a person can bond with their kitties....good luck.

I asked the woman in question about the weaning issue and she reminded me (and I should have looked more closely at the poster again) that the kitten is that age NOW but she was much younger at the time of the theft!! So she was still being weaned at the time of the theft. This person just looked away fior maybe 15-20 seconds and the kitten was gone.

I agree with John. It just seems to me that anyone who would go to that trouble prob does not have the best interests of the kitten in mind. Unless they really really wanted a kitten. BUT they clearly know nothing of the needs of a small 3 1/2 - 4 week old kitten (age at time of theft!!!). Or he needs snake food, which is also in short supply suring this time ,sighhhhh! (I did not mention this to the family tho)

They have contacted all the newspapers in the Pensacolaand Panhandle area - are determined to get the baby back. I asked about finding out the address of the contractor - but there are contractors and sub contractors. I personally do not understand why they cannot get the names of all the subcontractors in the area tho! But I do know how chaotic the place is , or was when I was there anyway - and the envirnment I was in (a pediatric hospital)n was so much better organized than people waiting for FEMA, contractors and other orgs. This sub contractor was someone authorized by FEMA so surely they have a listing. But they ran into bureacracy there - U*&^!

But it does not sound promising - kittens also change so much as they age. They grow and develop faster than human babies, as I do not need to tell all of you!!

We can only hope and pray now I think!! As John said, people can be the worst creatures on earth, sadly!!
