I posted a few days ago about how my 14 mo. old cat Raven is not too happy with our new 6 week old kitten. It's only been a few days and I know to be patient. They are being kept in separate areas of the apartment. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas about Cat Faeries Flower Essences. They make drops that are supposed to help ease stress and anxiety. I thought maybe if I got one for Raven it would help her calm down. When I bring the kitten near her, she will hiss and growl and then move away. It almost seems more like she's scared of the little guy...

Flower essences work on some cats and not on others. All you can do is try. It won't harm the cat at all if it doesn't work. I would definitely also order a few Feliway Comfort Zone Room diffusers and plug those in. This product is also available at Cat Faeries

Oh yes, she probably is. It is not uncommon! She is NOT openly hostile, she doesnt know what small kittens are, and what to do, and is unsure and a little afraid yes. That is quite common with male cats - but happens also with females yes.

Why not, try the faeries flower drops, or their cousin Bach remedy drops. Or / And feliway as Hissy mentioned. Cant harm and may help.

Always a good idea in those case is to have them in separate rooms - as you have - and a grating/bars inbetween. So they can see and smell each other - but feel fully secure.

Pity she is afraid. The little one would fare well of a friendly fostermom... Or even a wellwishing aunt or uncle.
