I have always felt the cold, I like to be warm, and when it starts to get chilly I put the heating on. When I lived at home it was awful sometimes because no one else felt the cold and I'd be shivering before anyone would turn on the fire (no central heating either!), same with my last job - I'd be turning up the heater in December whilst a workmate was opening his window

We have the heating on in the office now, and someone just noticed this and started ranting about it, saying there must be something wrong with the rest of us! Apparently we don't get enough exercise

Oddly enough though, I hate summer as it's too hot. I'd rather it be cold outside and be snuggled up next to the fire inside

Am I weird, or are there others out there like me?

I'm always hot at work so I'm like your colleague. Is this related to exercise? I do exercise a lot.

Me too!
Especially when there's a winter storm and I'm home with the fireplace on and curled up on the couch with my favourite blanket and my kitties.

To do with circulation I think - more you exercise the better your circulation & therefore the less you feel the cold. However, I've always felt the cold, even when I was at school and actually fit, so I doubt it's exercise that's the problem in my case

I hate the cold. You would think after living in Maine for 48 years. I would be used to it. .I usually have a big wood stove burning starting in Nov. Till April. Untill then I have the furnace going. I prefer the wood stove as it is much warmer..And the cats love it also..

I'm not much for the hot weather, I hate being hot, I am always cold! I have my heater on in my office now, with about 2 layers on, and I'm STILL cold!!

I am in the south, so it is just chilly here now. We usually dont turn our heat on until absolutely necessary. We have gas logs and turn them on in the am if we are chilly.

I hate the cold. I'm the person who wears a million layers in the winter time. This will be my first winter living here (I was previously in SW Ontario..closer to Port Huron Michigan) I'm told that I should be preparing for temps as cold as -51F (brrr!!)

I. Hate. Winter. !!!! It's not necesarily exercise/circulation related, although it can be. It can also be underactive thyroid. I went in for my yearly check-up yesterday and did mention to my ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat Dr.) that I always felt the cold, and always had and would probably be cranking up the heat before long; and he joked that well, he could crank up my Synthroid but then I'd probably be running the A/C all winter and probably would not save any money
! We keep my thyroid reading (TSH I think it's called) on "high normal" as I just feel better with it like that. Great doc my ENT. Don't know many people that can say their ENT has climbed to the top of Mount Everest.

I love winter, now that we aren't living in Alaska. I love the winds, the thunderstorms, and even the cold. What I don't enjoy is going out and chipping the ice off the water buckets. The main trough has its own heater so the water there doesn't freeze, but the water in the stall does.

LOL! Don't know about the hot flashes! But I do always feel the cold. I have really poor circulation (despite exercising) and my hands and feet are usually little popsicles, even in summertime.

Miss Mew- it still amazes me how one province can have so much variation in climate. -51oF?! Yoiks! How do the planes fly when it's that cold?

I am a portable heater.

I keep the windows open as long as I can (til it drops below 50 degrees outside) and don't put that furnace on til I have to.

I love winter!!!!!! SNOW IS FUN! Sweaters, boots... hats... gloves & stylish scarves... hot cocoa... spinning out & hitting stuff in my sports car...

sledriding...

I'm a really hot chic I guess cuz I do not feel the cold. My boyfriend is cold-natured though, he steals ALL the covers and I'm lying there sweating.

I love cold weather. We still don't have the heat on in our building. The neighbours upstairs are away, and they are usually the ones who complain first. I'm aiming for November 1 for firing up the furnace. I told my landlord that he gets the pre-menopause discount tenant this year.

The indoor temp right now is a balmy 16 celcius, which is about 62 f.

If it drops below 15, then my hands are too cold to type.

I honestly like all kinds of weather, just as long as it's not too extreme. I can't stand it when there's a heatwave. Likewise if it's too cold my circulation cuts off and the tips of my fingers turn white (v. freaky). I love the fact that we get 4 seasons here, although I do sometimes miss the Irish "drizzle"

Count me in for rathering being cold than hot. I usually am warm all the time - but recently it has been the opposite. I tried to donate blood last week and they would't let me because my iron was to low. One of my coworkers mentioned that she is anemic (low iron) and is always cold... she seemed to think that was a cause... ?

I'm kind of a midway person. I hate the freakish heat that comes with living in Texas, but needing to dress in fifty layers of clothing to walk outside is not my bag either.

That's why I love fall, here. 50-70 degree weather and that calm, peaceful feeling of everything shutting down for the year.
