It's just under 9 miles for me. Takes 20 minutes on a good day, and up to an hour on a bad one. One Christmas it took me over an hour and a half

It's unfortunately a busy commuter route, plus it's a school run route! The kicker was that I left at 3.30 that day to get home early, and ended up getting home at nearly normal time

I'm looking to move sometime soon, and thinking that moving closer to town may be a good idea (although the place I've seen that I love is actually 5 minutes further away!)

I drive an hour each way to my job, about 45 miles each way. When I married my husband, I had to move into his house (I wanted to, and he didn't want to move), and I'm lucky to have a job as a music therapist, so I make the drive. It is not good on my car or on my nerves, as it can take anywhere up to 3 hours to get home or to work!

I'm only about 10 minutes away from my workplace. I'll be moving in December, which will add about 10 more minutes to my commute.

35 miles one way for me. Not so bad in the Summer but in the Winter I am a nervous wreck!
I usually ride with my bf to his work, then go from there to mine. That is only 15 minutes of panic insteads of 45 minutes to an hour....

depends on what store i want to start at each day-- I have a route of 187 stores that i visit each month and just whatever i decide to do each morning is how my "commute" works. My closest store is within 1/2 mile of my house, my furthest is about 125 miles.

I consider myself very lucky. Even though I live in the Denver-metro area, I work 2 miles from home which takes 5-7 minutes to drive.
I know that's amazing for living in a big city.

If I leave from my house to work it takes 45 to 50 minutes. If I leave from my girlfriends house it takes around 25 to 30 minutes.

I go about 12 miles and takes me from 15-20 min. From bf's house it's a little farther but a straight shot on a highway so it's more like 5min.

I live about 15 minutes "normal drive" from my work. I work in Covington, KY, which is right on the Ohio River. I live in Florence; the shopping center of the universe, I think?

It takes me anywhere from 30 minutes to 45 minutes to get to work each morning solely because there are 2 million other peeps just like me who are trying to get to work each morning. The 15-minute jaunt turns into a snarled trafficky nightmare at 8ish in the morning!

It feels like that movie "Office Space" ... as he's parked in traffic behind all those other cars, you get into the lane that is moving fastest; then, oops; brakelights. And then the lane you were just in, starts moving faster.

I live about 24 miles away from my work. It takes me about an hour to get there, but only about 35 mins to get home (traffic.....I hate it!!). It's almost all highway driving, too. But hey, it could be worse. I could not have a job!

My uni is about 70 miles away from my home, so every day I need to go by train for some 2 hours (haven't got a license or a car
) and another two to get back in the evening...

Luckily most of my classes will only start around noon, so it's not that much of a hassle...but I'm still glad I have a few days of holidays left

I hate the idea of commuting. I used to work in a gallery, and walk to work, about 6 blocks. Now I have a gallery on the main floor of the building, and I live upstairs. Which means that my cats can also come to work with me, if they feel like it.

I used to say that I am lucky to be able to live and work this way, but then I realized that it was good planning, not good luck.

Oh, and I am in the downtown of a fairly major Canadian city.
