Ok...First thing - You must keep the kitten warm - A kitten can die if it isn't kept warm as they cannot regulate their own temperature at this age.

With regards to the feral cats....you can contact these groups and see if they can help you:

These cats need to be trapped and neutered/spayed. As far as the kitten goes...please use this site for information on how to take care of it:

Please keep the kitten away from all drafts. If you have a heating pad you can put it in a box with some blankets over it and place the kitten in it. I would do anything and everything I could to keep it warm and safe overnight and then find a vet to take it to ASAP in the morning!!!

Please buy some kitten formula and feed it. Also, make sure that it is eliminating waste (pee and poop). If it is not going on its own, you must help stimulate it. You can do this with a warm, moist cotton ball, and run its privates with it.

Hopefully someone more experienced and knowledgable will be here quickly to help you!!!

I hope someone will move this post to a section where it's more appropriate, so that the right people will see it!!!

Good luck and God bless!!!

Hi luvin,

Thank you for taking this kitten in. Are his eyes open?

Please don't use a human heating pad on this wee one. Human heating pads often will burn the sensitive skin of newborns. You need to get some KMR Kitten Replacement Milk and a bottle, is there a 24 hour grocery store open near you? If not, you can improvise. If you have a can of evaporated milk, you can add some water and syringe the liquid into the kitten's mouth. It sounds like this wee one will need to be fed every two hours at first round the clock. Are you able to do that?

In order to keep him warm and comfortable, do you have any Minute Rice in the house? You need to take a pair of old socks and fill them up halfway with the rice (uncooked). Tie off the ends, then you nuke the sock in the microwave for 30 seconds. this will provide a warming companion for the little one. You want the kitten to be in a box with warm bedding

Please also see the website mentioned already www.kitten-rescue.com and look into what is involved in stimulating this kitten to get him to pee and poop.

I am up quite late at night, you are welcome to PM or email me if you have questions. I do bottle babies. [email protected] and I am one of the authors of Kitten-rescue along with another member Kumbulu-

Best of luck-

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
If you're in Chicago and you feel the need to take the little one to a vet tonight, there's an all night and weekend vet on N Clybourn

Emergency Night Weekend Vet
3123 N Clybourn Ave, Chicago, IL 60618
(773) 281-7110

I took Jack there once, when I discovered his eye was swolled shut and it was 10pm. Call them in advance. That's if you're actually IN Chicago. I noticed you're in Illinois. If you're not in Chicago, check the yellow pages for a 24 hour vet.
