Scared cat....HELP!!

I have a Male Bombay that is just a year now. He is sometimes very loving to my wife and I but when ever strangers come over he is effected by it for days. He will hide in the closet and even avoid my wife and I for hours on end. He has never been hit or abused. We got him when he was just 6 weeks old from a great family and this behavior has just started in the last 6 months. I love my boy Jimi but I don't know what to do for a cat that is sometimes loving and great but at other times more and anti social.

Please help,

Well, first off Welcome to TCS!!!

Maybe another kitten/cat will help bring him out of his shell. Is he neutered? His he eating ok? Using the litter box?

Thanks for the welcome emb-78. Sorry I should have given more info.
He is eating great, sleeps great, and is using the litter box. He is also #3 for us. He has two older sisters that are great!!! They are both social and playful with him. He has no issues with them at all. I hate to say it but it's almost like he's bi polar

We have been trying to track what is setting him off and the only thing we can track is when we have friends and or family over.

Scared cat....HELP!!
