Well I can't believe it's time already, but Maggie is going to get spayed on Wednesday. Since, I haven't had a female kitten since I was 12 years old, I'm nervous. I know they are going to keep her over night, but what should I expect when she comes home? I'll ask my vet too when I go there, but I'm nervous about it already. I know that it's a lot harder than being neutered. I'm thinking I may try to keep her seperate from the boys for a day or so, but she can be a drama queeen & my guess would be she will cry to get out of the bathroom. Any advice from people who have multiple cats & got a female kitten spayed would be appreciated. Also send good thoughts for her surgery to go well. (incase you can't tell I'm a nervous momma)

SHe will probably just want to sleep for 12-24 hours, so she will want to be quier. Just leave her with a bed and a litter box and some water/food in case she wants it. They vary a lot - Dushka was in pain and uncomfortable for two days - Ellie was up and eating within hours. But I kept Ellie and Persil separate for a couple of days, they didn't seem to mind, they were pretty pre-occupied.

It's perfectly natural to feel nervous about your baby's big day! We've all been there! Maggy, you're going to sail right through your procedure and be back home with your family in no time at all!

Well she's at the vets right now. I dropped her off this morning & I must say I think I did preety good. I didn't cry or anything, although I really wanted to. I can't believe how attached to her I've gotten in just a couple months. When I brought the empty carrier home, Joran & Isaac kept looking in it and sniffing. I don't know if they were smelling her or the vet, but they were very curious about the carrier. I'll post again as soon as I hear from the vet.

Wow, I just got a call from the vet. Maggie is out of sergery & in the process of waking up. So I'm a happy Mom again.
When the phone rang I was very nervous because when the boys were neutered they didn't call until like 1 or 2 in the afternoon, so this was alot earlier than I expected.
