i have 5 7 week old kittens living with me and my male cat (and the mother who is/was feral). The problem is that my male cat doesn't like them at all - he hisses at them when he sees them, and will swipe them if they come too close.

He stays out of the house most days, and just comes in at night to sleep - the problem is that its getting colder and pretty soon it will be too cold for him to stay out like this all day!

We are keeping 1 or 2 of the kittens, but will have them all for another 1-3 weeks - can anyone suggest anything to help my male cat accept these kitties - or is there a chance that he never will? Can Feliway be used forthis kind of situation, and can it be used with kitten?

The only prob with Feliway is that it can take up to a month to have a full effect. Rescue Remedy can also be used, either in food or water, or put directly on the cats ears.

If he only swipes at them if they come close, then I don't think you have a problem. The kitten will quickly learn to stay a safe distance from him. If he were hunting them down and trying to hurt them I would worry.

I also believe Feliway can be used in this situation.
