I will be helping a friend clean out feral houses today. I know to wear old clothes, but can anyone tell me if it is possible for me to bring home fleas with me and if that happens what do I do?

Is there any way that you can change your clothes on site (afterward), and put them in a plastic bag? You probably won't bring home any anyway (most are probably on the cats themselves), but I would be cautious regardless.

Good luck, and thanks for helping make the lives of these kitties that much better!

I was actually thinking of taking my clothes off as much as possible in the hallway
keeping the door open should anyone come. I'm worried about this because these boxes have not been cleaned out in a long time so I was thinking they might be in the boxes when I stuck my hand in to get out the old stuff?
Possible?

When I volunteer at the feral cat clinic..I take off all my clothes the moment I get through my front door and start the washing machine. Then I take a hot shower BEFORE I even let my cats near me.
