Hi everyone Im new to the boards

Im posting a picture of my kitty hoping someone can clear up a couple of questions for me as he's a bit of a mystery.
I got this small whitish kitty from my fiance's sister. Her Cat had been out roaming and had a litter of what we assumed was domestics. As he's grown he's gotten gorgeous!! Well I think so

So the other day at a b-day party a party goer got all gooey over him and went on and on about how I have a snowshoe??!!?? I was like...a what?
Ive looked up snowshoes and what do ya know he looks like one.
What do you all think?
Is snowshoe a purebreed or could it just happen like that?
Im also putting a picture of his litter mate Chloe who I also have.Theyre complete opposites.

He may be a DSH mix - if he has blue eyes, (it is hard to tell in the pict) he could be part Siamese and thus be a Siamese with Snowshoe colour points. He does look like he has colour points which can mean Siamsese, Rag Doll, Himmie, and so forth.

Here is the standard for Siamese with Snowshoe colour points. If he has blue eyes, he may have some meezer in him.

Here is a page on snowshoes as a breed in and of themselves:

ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/gccf_cats/snowsop.pdf
and more about the snowshoe:

Your kitty looks like he may be a DSH mix with some Snowshoe points (Siamese have shorter hair than typicals cats so check the length of his hair). I gather you did not buy him from a predgreed breeder or you would know. He may have been born of a mixed "breeding" combination. He does not look like the snowshoe cat - looks more like a meeser or ragdoll with snowshoe points but that is purely a guess based on the photos.

IMO he's a Snowshoe look alike (mismarked on the face). He's got the short thick coat like a snowshoe, not a longhair like ragdoll or himilayan.

Currently the only point colors acceptable for Snowshoes are seal or blue points (in CFA) - not sure if any other association allows the other point colors.

Thank you for your thoughts

It really doesnt matter what he is I was just curious.I adore him regardless. What a big baby he is!!
I did some investigating and lo and behold there is a siamese living 2 houses down from the mother kitty who goes outside so seems both my kitties are siamese mixes.Frankie definately got the snowshoe personality if not the markings

Thanks again
Jen
