Lately my 1yr old cat won't eat anything. ITs been two days now. She ignores cat wet food, wont eat anymore her dry food and when i offer her pieces of ham (i usualy never do but she likes them and i watned to see if her apetite was what was wrong and not the food) she licks the ham, chews it then spits it out again whole. To me it seems she is hungry but cannot eat. Anyone can tell me what the problem might be please????

Please please speak to your vet. Cat's can't go more than a couple of days without eating without risking liver problems, especially if they are overweight. Are you positive that she can't be sneaking food without you knowing? She could have a sore tooth - can you check her mouth?

she is quite thin actually..always been so. Im positive she is not sneaking anything -i have been force-feeding her with some paste -which is for cats and dogs who wont eat.

I tried to chek her mouth but i wouldnt know what to look for as such. I have seen a black spot in her gums near her tooth but i dont know if its normal pigmentation.

Please ring a vet then, she could have something very simple, but if left, she could die. I don't know if the paste will have enough nutrients in it, we use Hills a/d when animals aren't eating, but if they suddenly stop, they need the vet.

THe paste was recommended by the vet -its Calo-pet. its a high-caloire complementary pet food. Ill take her to the vet tomorrow and i hope he will be able to tell me whats wrong...when Kitty wa ssick 2 weeks ago he told us it was probably a stomach virus. (later after 4 visits to the vet we found out she ahd something obstructing her stomach which turned out to be some thread) I wonder if this could be related....maybe she was not purged of all the thread she had digested.
