I am not sure whether this really belongs in N&H but here goes:
I have three indoor/outdoor cats and two indoor kittens. The three girls have always had a meter long trough of wheat grass on the balcony, as well as whatever they eat outside, though they don't use it much, except when the snow covers the outside. The two little boys don't have access even to the balcony yet, and I thought the other day that some grass might help their digestion a bit. So I brought the trough indoors. In three days they have eaten the grass down to the roots! Several times I have seen four or five of them all eating the grass at once. Anyone got any ideas on why they would do this all of a sudden? There is still grass outside, have they just decided they like the indoor stuff better?
