I just thought of something! When I had Molly in to see the vet the other day, there were 2 dogs there being seen for Kennel Cough. I know it's very contagious but do cats get it, too, or just dogs?

Oh great! I know kennel cough is going around in my city really badly....our groomer even called and canceled our dog's grooming last month because of it.
I hope Molly doesn't get sick with that now!

Is Molly and indoor cat?
as long as she is not exposed to an animal with kennel cough she should be fine....and the fact your pups groomig appointment was canceled also helps both of them from catching it......

I think they will both be fine......

I don't think it would be imprudent to call your vet and consider vaccinating her against this, for when your dog is back out and at the groomers...otoh, the question to ask your vet is if a cat can get this from an infected dog or not, as I'm not sure!

I was just recently fortunate enough to fight a bout of kennel cough with my dogs without the kits contracting the infection. I was very worried but my vet said that it is rare for a dog to pass on the infection to a cat.

That is so good to hear, thank you! How are your puppers doing?

Very interesting. Sandy puppy girl just had a mild bout with it last month after coming back from Marymoor - I know Leah goes there too! She had her Bordatella shot series so she shook it off within 6 days but it was very worrisome. Sasha and Saba showed no signs of it, thank goodness.

I'm glad Sandy shook it off and that Sasha and Saba were okay!
