I'm really worried about him. Can anyone tell me what to expect in regard to his recovery? Should I keep him in his carrier so that he doesn't move too much? Should I seperate him from Mica?If so for how long? I was going to let him sleep in my room that night.

OMG I just realized I put this in Behavior. So sorry! Please any mods move it to wherever it needs to be. Sorry

How old is he? I just got the boys neutered a couple of weeks ago, pretty much right at 6 months of age. You would NEVER know anything had been done! I was advised to keep them from jumping too high the first 24 hours or so, so they spent a day in the bedroom where the bed is as high as it gets. Let them out the next day and they were running all over the place as normal as could be.

I hope your boy does as well!

I agree - when my boys were neutered they were just fine - sure a little sleepy for that first night, but completely back to normal the next day.

chin up my friend - Rocket is going to do JUST fine

The only thing I can think of is to reintroduce him to the other cat slowly because he may smell differently after being at the vet. I'm sure the vet will give you any instructions about restrictions.

Don't worry about it. It's minor surgery. The next day he won't even know anything's been done.

Rocket says "Hi Rocket!!"

Much more minor surgery for a male than a female....he`ll be up and at um in no time...probably just a bit groggy and lay around the first day or so and maybe a little stiff legged for another 1-2.

When we had Pushkin neutered we opted for laser surgery to cut down on recover time etc. Unfortunately he picked up an eye infection at the vet's
and was groggy and lethargic for a week until we took him back and got some meds. We just thought it took a while to recover, but it shouldn't take that long for a boy.
How's Rocket doing?
