I don't know who remembers a couple of weeks ago I posted a couple of pictures of my moms 2 dogs that were here with us because my mom and dad evacuated Louisiana.

Her 2 and a half pound Chihuaua (not sure how its spelled) and her 95 pound Pitt Bull named Zu-Zu.

Well on 2 different nights someone was in myfenced in back yard trying to steal the Pitt Bull!!

We locked the gates with strong locks and he was fine.
Well on the 13th (this past Thursday) someone stole him from the back of my moms truck on her way home. She stopped to get a coffee (a drive thru)
and he was barking really loud. She thought he was just excited. The back of this [place is facing some woods and it would have been very easy for someone to take him out and run through the woods with him.

The town I live in is like Pitt Bull City!! Everyone here wants one. He was such a wonderful dog and I guess I am just asking for prayers to get him back. I have posted flyers and offered a reward.
My mom is just lost w/o him. She blames herself.

She has been crying nonstop for 2 days!!

Oh another thing is that he could not jump out the back of the truck. He tried even before they left to jump out and get Garfield but his legs were too short. He has been in the back of my moms truck his whole life (almost 3 years) and has never been able to jump out.

Here is a pic of him....

We love and miss you SOOOOOO much ZU-ZU boy!!!!! And just know I am looking for you!!!
Love, Sissy Sarah

Oh I don't understand how people could do that! I had a friend in college who's dogs were stolen from her yard. It was horrible!

Have you contacted the police? I don't know how much help they will be but I think you at least should try. Poor baby! I'm praying he is returned to you safe and sound!

I am sorry that happened its so horrible.

One big reason when the dogs are out unattended i put them in the smaller kennel and padlock it. I dont trust people

A person can't be much lower than a person who steals someone's pet. To me, it's the same as stealing someone's child. I hope your mother finds her dog.

There are some AWFUL, UNHEARTLESS people in this world! How could you take something that is not rightfully yours?! Especially if it's someone's beloved pet!

Thanks to all of you for your support!!

I know that he is still here in Poplar Bluff. And I will find him!!!
If I have to search every yard and every house!! I will find him!!
He is our baby!! Who do "they" think they are????

Last week when my mom left him with me b/c she had to take my dad to Baton Rouge to his doctor for a few days, Zu-Zu barked all day and all night until she came back!! He acted so sad and odd.
But as soon a sshe returned he was back to his old self again!! Not only does my mom love him to pieces... he loves her just the same. And I just can't imagine how his big heart is aching w/o her!!

I feel so sad and mad at the same time.

Have you checked the Pet Detective site for ideas on how to search for him? There are some good ideas there. Good luck!! I too cannot imagine anyone taking a beloved pet but it seems the world we live in has some horrible people, sigh!

The problem is this "beloved pet" is a pit-bull. I really, really, really hope you find him. I s'pose you know it's very common to steal these dogs and then "train"
them for the pit.

Also, my mom wanted him to be fixed when he was of age. My dad said no.
Now she thinks it is her fault for listening to him.
She says that if she just would have had him fixed no one would have wanted him. Which I am afraid is true.

I talked to a guy last night that saw the LOST ad for Zu- Zu.
He told me that it is VERY common for a dog to be stolen on a Thursday here in this town. He said they are stolen on Thursdays and then on Friday mornings are brought to a place in south Poplar Bluff called the "sale barn" where these dogs are illegally sold.
I have already missed 1 Friday but he told me if thats what happened to him there is a chance he wasnt sold this past Friday. This place starts at 5:00 every Friday morning!!! That early!! But I will be there this coming Friday.

Please evryone pray he is there!!!!!!!

wow... unbelievable!

who would steal a dog, it's a nightmare

I'd definitely say go and try to get the dog back. He'll recognize you immidiately. It's also a good idea to contact police and maybe have a detective come with you, because if a dog recognizes you, you might have a problem on your hands - the thief will know you're the owner.

Yeah that's just great that they have organized sales of stolen dogs every week and the police do what exactly?!

Poor ZuZu, and poor you for losing a pet. Can't believe that someone would steal a pet, that's my worse nightmare.

As if your family hasn't been through enough! I think you should call the newspaper or local TV, and ask if a reporter can come with you to the friday am sale, and blow the lid off this activity! Shed some light and publicity, and the cops will start to care.

Don't forget to mention that your parents are only here temporarily due to Hurricane Rita. If no one will come, take your own pics and submit your own story to the paper!

Good luck finding him! Maybe he sat and whined at the first sale from missing your Mom, and no one wanted him!?!?

What a cruel person to do such a thing....with everything that is going on all over the world nowadays, it sickend me that people still remain sooo selfish.....

Stealing someones pet is awful.....

I hope you find the poor pup safe and sound, and the person who stole it gets whats coming to him/her.....

good luck.....and good vibes
