OH, I am sooo sad to hear this.
I prayed so much for her. I guess she was needed over the RB. Play and frolic with all our other RB kitties, sweetie.

I know what you're going through. Just lost my sweet girl the other day. It's never easy, but we are not alone and neither are our little darlings.

This morning was the first morning in over a week that I didn't get a 7:30am report on her. My boyfriend tells me I can miss her, but I shouldn't get sad over morbid things like that. Perhaps he's right. And maybe tomorrow I won't wake up feeling as empty.

Today I find myself really missing her mittens that she pranced around on. I hope to meet a lot of other kitties, rescues/owned/ferals that have mittens like hers. They were great.

My mother as well as the women I was fostering for all believe that she will come back. I don't know how much I believe it, but I take comfort in the idea. Maybe her spirit, that was so strong, realized that her body was never going to fully recover, and left. And I hope that she finds another good body one day, and comes to say hi to me. I'd like that.

I'm still recovering. Thank you so much for your condolences. I realize many other people have lost kittens, rescue or otherwise, and cats - and I take comfort in our comeradery.

Your not getting sad over a morbid thing, what you are feeling is completely normal, and it is such early days.

That is such a nice thought, and I hope I get to 'meet' some of the ones I have lost (although hope the vicious cat comes back with a better temperament!!).

When my Mom died 3 years ago, a friend welcomed me to "the club" of people who have lost a parent. I would like to officially welcome you to the club of foster parents who lose a kitten or cat. Its a club no one wants to join, and yet we are able to comfort each other. Though I miss each tiny baby, and the promise they held of a long healthy happy life, I know their time with me was good. And although it isn't what you wanted for Jane, now she is forever your baby. Resting in your garden, safely over the rainbow bridge.

I'm sorry she is gone. Rest in peace little Jane, beloved by a world of catladies and catguys.

Actually, I must admit, Jane is the second foster baby I have lost. The first was just about a year ago (it makes me think Fall is not my time to foster) and was completely different and thus completely different in pain. He was much younger, I had him less time, and he died a lot quicker. I wouldn't say it hurt less, it hurt terribly differently.

In both cases it hurts so bad that they didn't get the full lives I feel they deserve.

I appreciate what you say though, and I know you understand how I feel, it gives me some comfort as well.
