hello everyone,
i am new to this site since i found it quite useful.
but my cat has this rash problem on his neck.

a month or so ago, i noticed 1 or 2 lumps on his neck. i thought it was food allergies and i checked what he ate. but now i can feel ALOT of lumps on his neck and i move the fur (thick coat) and i see open wounds.... i am really scared now, what can it be?

We don't have insurance and hopefully it is not expensive for the vet to treat it... someone please help.

Jonathan,

It could be anything, fleas, allergies to either food or something you put on your cat to get rid of fleas? Your best bet is let a vet see the cat and diagnose him accurately.

Hello Jonathan, and welcome!

I don't know much about this, but I know that flea collars can cause rashes and wounds, but I'm not sure about the lumps. I did see a kitten once, with a lump in the neck, which was supposedly from worms.

I definitely think it should be checked out at least, then your vet will tell you about cost once the diagnosis is clear. But it is not at all something to "wait out" or ignore; I'm sure it'll just get worse if you wait.

I'm sorry your cat has these problems, it is so hard to see them ill.
Hopefully it won't be too hard to treat.

Anyway, we're happy you're here!
I hope you'll learn alot from reading up on stuff here, and that you'll enjoy the board!
