I've read you have to drink half of your body weight in ounces of water a day to lose weight....I just can't drink that much LOL!!

The bottom line to losing weight is you have to eat less calories that what you burn in a day's time. My husband managed to lose about 45 lbs and he did it counting calories. If you do that, you automatically reduce sugar and fat content in your food.

I find that as soon as I cut out the alcohol I start losing weight. I don't drink much either! Btw, good for you on the water!

Drinking water will make you lose weight if you were retaining water. It flushes the things that make you retain water out of your system (like salt) and you lose what weight the water added, not fat. It won't work if you continue retaining water or if you weren't retaining any to begin with. Also, a lot of people lose weight when they start drinking more water because they are drinking less sodas and drinks with calories. My brother lost 20lbs in a month when he started drinking more water and less Kool-Aid (with sugar) and he's skinny.

I read somewhere that drinking too much water can flush out vitamins your body needs also.
