If you can, try to see if you can locate some powdered colostrum for Moogle too. We used it with the feral cat rescue I worked at in Texas for the little kittens we rescued. The kittens get colostrum from their momma when they nurse, which contains the good antiboody stuff they need to get a healthy immune system. Keeping little Moogle as healthy as possible will help him hopefully stave off all the stuff lurking out there that does little babies like him in. That and the love that you give to him. You can add it to his formula and its one of those added tools in your arsenal to keep your baby all healthy and growing strong. Good luck and God speed in your journey with little Moogle. Its always a struggle to keep young ones alive, but miracles happen all the time with believing and hope and faith.

Would that be something I could find at PetSmart?

And thank you bunches for the warm wishes.

When bottle babies are health-compromised, 6 weeks is when I stop holding my breath and try to relax around them. Just keep fighting the good fight, that is the best and all you can do at this point. Are you sleep deprived yet?

Sleep deprived is an understatement. Good thing I have a large stockpile of good coffee.

You are doing wonders for little Moogle. Love to see some updated pix soon! I found with young kittens that egg yolk (not hte white - it is bad for them) beaten up in a little goat's milk or KMR is a wonderful strengthener and nutrition aid. I give them one yolk every two days. And they love it.

There is an egg yolk in his glop, but I do worry about the possibility of him contracting salmonella so I use as few eggs as possible. But I may try a bit of yogurt the same way. I'm also planning to get the colostrum, GSE, and pet vitamins into his diet asap. He had his first try of glop a couple of hours ago and seemed to really like it. it seems richer than the hartz kitten milk he was getting. I'm making it with goats milk.

by request.

My camera REALLY sucks!

I wasn't feeding him upside down. I swear, the camera angle is really weird on this one.

He is lovely! And I think the risk of salmonella is not as great as the risk of him not getting enough nutrition. But yoghurt is good and it sounds like he is thriving.

Oh my God, he is just the cutest little darling. As for where to find colostrum, check with nutritional or holistic stores/vets in your area. We got ours through a holistic vet that saw alot of the ferals we T.A.R'ed and cared for the kittens we would foster and then adopt. From how he is looking in his pictures, you are doing a great job with him. I agree with the above poster...Ive got itchy fingers too

You can also find it in feed stores if there are any in your area.

Ah! Yes there are. And it will be a good bit cheaper there too, no doubt. That's a good thing, between the vet visit and just general stuff I've been getting for him my cash flow is a bit tapped.

Thanks again M.A. You are shiineey!

Moogle initiated play with me for the first time today. He'd just been fed and burped and he was crawling around on me getting petted and purr-snuffling a bit like he does when searching for a nipple. The he just stopped sat and started batting at my hair with one paw. sooo cute.

Well his sight and hearing are already excellent. Earlier today he jumped when the phone rang, (I turned the ringer way down after), and tried to bat at/play with his reflection on the side of his tub. He purrs every time I pick him up.

If I hadn't spoken to the lady who witnessed his birth I would think he was a good bit older than he is.
