Help!! My cat is due tomorrow? (we are not 100% the exact date but we are within days) she jumped into my lap tonight and I noticed that she was wet. It seems to have an odor to it, not too strong, but I smell something. the discharge is white tonight however last night I noticed a greenish/yellow discharge that I thought was the plug. This is her first litter so I am very nervous. I hope that someone is av ailable I need help tonight. Should I call the vet?

Hello, I have never had a pregnant cat, so I really don't know what to tell you in this case. I truly hope someone more knowledgable is online and can help me. In the meantime, good luck and hopefully this is normal.

How is she acting? Is she clingy and nervous? Have you provided a good place for her to nest and deliver? Has she explored that place and begun to dig around yet?

Is she eating and otherwise acting normally?

Please update us on how she is doing. A discharge of some sort is to be expected, I believe. But if it smells foul, that is indicating an infection, and she needs to go to the vet today!

Absolutely, call the vet. They might tell you everything is fine or they might tell you to come in immediately - but they will tell you whatever they think is right.

A foul-smelling, opaque discharge sounds alarming to me and may indicate an infection that could put mom and babies all in jeopardy. Better safe than sorry, always.
