....related so I'll just ask here. It would probably be most appropriate under a "Weirdo" forum but there doesn't seem to be one here.

My kitty won't drink water from a bowl with her mouth...she never has. She will only drink by flinging the water in the air and catching it in her mouth. Is that just a weird qwuirk she has or is there a specific reason for it? NE1 know?

it sounds like a quirk.. nothing to worry about. =) I know alot of cats that won't drink out of dishes, just from taps.

How cute!

Have you considered getting her a pet drinking fountain? One of my boys drinks by sticking his paw in the water & licking the water off, so the water tends to get dirty really quickly. Getting a pet fountain with a filter helps keep the drinking water cleaner if you have a cat who sticks his/her paws in the water a lot.

My Bogart did the same thing and loved the fountain that I bought him.

Well, I THOUGHT a water fountain was a good idea UNTIL I was having to use 2 bath towels to dry the bathroom floor every day! So, I gave the fountain to my SIL (her one cat will only drink water from a moving source) and I have to keep Molly's water dish IN the bath tub. It's the only way she can fling to her heart's content without me having to post "Caution: Wet Floor" signs in my bathrooms. I do turn on the bathtub faucet for her once a day, too, and she LOVES that but then gets MAD when she's done because she's all wet and then glares at ME like I'M the one who got her all wet!!!!

Awww...I think that's the cutest way I've ever heard of for a kitty to drink!! I don't think anything's wrong with your little one...I think that's just what she prefers.

Our Sunny works VERY hard at "unburying" her water, and Hobbes likes to dip his paw in and lick it off his paw. I think they each do it their own quirky way.
