Hi Everyone-

I have a few questions that maybe some of you other breeders and fanciers can answer for me. I breed Persian Cats and my Shashawna is due to have her fourth litter in 2 days now. She isn't very big. In her previous litters she was huge and had litters of 4, 5, and then 4. I don't think she has but 1 or 2 this time. She has all the signs and everything. I just wonder sometimes if she is actually pregnant. This is her second litter this year as she had already had 3 heats so we had to breed her under our vets advice. We wanted to wait til 2006 to breed her again. She is 3 years old. Any advice or thoughts???? Her pictures are below. Pictures were taken October 6th in her 8th week of pregnancy.

And then to top that off, her 5 month old son, who still needs to find a home, has started nursing on her and she just lets him. Everytime I see it in progress, I put an end to it immediately. I just don't understand why he would begin nursing again. How do I go about preventing this? Is it going to hurt the babies inside? Will she loose the litter even though she is due in 2 days?

Any advice on Shashawna and her baby would be great. I am a little worried and nervous about Shashawna.

It is probably hard to tell on such a fluffy cat unless you are a trained vet, she sure is a beauty though!

Maybe her son started nursing again because he started to smell the colostrum on her?

I doubt she would lose the litter or that they would be hurt by his nursing...but he could be drinking the valuable colostrum which they will need.

What has your vet said about her condition?

You know what....I would PM Gayef. She would probably be the best person to talk to regarding your situation.

Do you know for sure he completly stopped nursing? Maybe you just don't see him do it. My cats kittens are 5 months and still try and nurse.
Has Shashawna seen a vet to confirm the pregnancy?
I hope everything turns out okay.
