I spent the last 4 years of my life complaining that I was living in a small city with NOTHING to do, very few restaurants, only one movie theatre (that rarely played anything I liked), etc.

Now I've been living in a big city for over a month, and I still haven't taken much time to go out. School has been keeping me very busy (still now). But I decided that I need to take myself out this weekend.

I need suggestions of what I could do.

My thoughts so far:

maybe dinner and a movie. That's always nice. I've been meaning to see "The Corpse Bride".
But movies aren't that special (I can watch movies at home anytime)

museum and dinner. There are some nice art museums around.

Or just dinner.

Or Maybe I'll go to the Biodome (sort of like a zoo... but not really. there's their website: http://www2.ville.montreal.qc.ca/bio....php?langue=en ) but that would probably have to be a day-long thing and I'm not sure I have the time for that.
Good thing about it is I could bring back pics of the Lynx for you guys. And of other interesting animals.

Do you have any other ideas for me?
Keeping in mind that: I hate shopping & I don't have anyone to go out with (so no group activities)
something that would have me meet people would be nice.

Sorry, I don't feel bad for you at all... because I know you're living in Montreal.
There's tons of stuff to do and it's much, MUCH cheaper to have fun there than here in Toronto. People are friendlier too.
Go out to a museum... you might even meet some new people.

I would vote either the Biodome or Museum. As Jen said, you might meet new people there!
You won't meet anyone if you go to a movie, that's a definite. But you can always strike up a conversation with someone looking at cats, or at art.

I don't think the advice can get any better than what Heidi has given!
I vote for the Biodome or a Museum, too!

The Biodome or the museum sound absolutely perfect! These will be fun as well as put you in the position to meet people! You could also treat yourself to a lovely dinner out! Perhaps you could go to a coffee shop as well where you will also stand the chance of meeting someone new!
