New Guy

Just thought I would introduce myself. I'm Matt and I just became the daddy of 2 shelter boys. Luke and Foster. I'm a first time cat owner so this should be an interesting ride

This is thier first picture in their new home.


Foster climbed out of his carrier and went into his brothers. LOL Now they took off when my back was turned and are hiding. This isn't a huge place but they are apparently master hiders because I can't find them yet.

They are brothers who were found living outside at 6 weeks old, They are now a year and a half old. Luke is very shy and Foster is a little more outgoing but also pretty shy. They are not lap cats although Foster may become one in time. No biggie either way. It's lonely living alone so these guys are my saviors.

Glad to find this place, lots of helpful information that I'm sure going to need.

Welcome and I'm glad you posted a picture!!! It's wonderful that you adopted adult kitties. I have some kitties that were not socialized at a young age, and they are not lap cats, either, but they all lovey just the same.

Awww, your new babies are gorgeous!! I'm sure they will come out from where they are hiding soon, they need adjustment time.

Thanks for the welcome.. I found their hiding spot. In the little cubbyhole that faces the wall on my tv stand.



Foster occassionally pokes his head out to see if I'm still around. I suspect they are waiting for me to goto bed before they start exploring.

They are getting better I think, still mostly hiding when I'm around and very active when I goto bed. Foster will sometimes come out of hiding when I'm not looking but If I get to close back to the cubby he goes. When I woke up this morning Luke was on the bed chilling around my feet but when he saw I was awake he left the bedroom, then when I left the bedroom he ran to his spot under the bed. LOL

All in all I think things are happening the way they are supposed to. They are eating and using the litterbox so I can't complain. I can't wait until the day they decide to hang around in the same room with me.

I have 8, 3 boys and 5 girlies, 3 of mine are black and white. 6 of mine I rescued from a busy shopping center parking lot and they warmed up just great and I'm sure with all the Love you will give these guys they will to
