I bought 2 London Broil steaks on Saturday for a cookout on Sunday. We only needed one and left the other in the fridge. Last night I realized that I never put it in the freezer, so I threw it in the crockpot with some stew veggies. It had been in the fridge for 4 days. Before I serve it to my BF, do you think its safe to eat? It looked and smelled fine.

It should be fine if it was kept cold the entire time until you started cooking it.

It should be fine. According to this website, near the bottom of the page, it says that fresh beef, stored properly in the fridge, should be good up to 5 days. I use the "looks and smells fine" test as well.

I'd say it should be fine too. So long as it was keep consistently in the fridge, not taken out, left out, then put back in...
If in doubt, feed it to your BF first!

Thank you Bugaboo1 and Sammie5. It was in the back of the fridge where it is the coldest. I feel better now. It was funny though when I woke up and smelled food. I forgot that I had the crock pot going.

Really, I don't eat meat anyway (except fish), and I have a really great BF. Now if I was still married to my 1st ex, I might have waited a few more days...

Phew! don't hurt the cat lovers, eh? At least we don't mind a few stray cat hairs in the soup!

Well, all of you were right.
My BF LOVED the roast or stew or whatever it is. The meat was so tender you could cut it with a spoon.

This thread wasn't what I expected!

I'm pleased that the meat was ok! I would have eaten it - generally it will smell if it's wrong!

Maybe leaving it in the fridge for a few days added to the tenderising process?!
