Hi All!
I have been extremely stressed at the job lately, and have been seriously considering taking online classe to be a vet assistant. Mind you I am 44 years old so vet school is not an option, especially working full time. There will always be a need for them, and it is something that I could do that I would really enjoy. Do you all think that I am too old to make the move now? Any imput on the online thing?

I don't think you're too old at all! What would be a worry is you having to juggle your current full time job AND studying as well. That'd be hard.

Apart from that, I say go for it!

I don't think you're too old! If it's what you want to do, I say go for it!

I don't know about any online courses, so I hope someone can help you with that!

I just want to wish you all the best and I hope you do decide to take the course!

I say good on you! You're never too old (except to wear spandex pants)!
I went back to college as a mature student - part time continuing ed classes, and there was a big mix of ages. I don't know about online courses though. I tend to be a bit skeptical of these, unless they're run through a local college?

You could talk to Vets in your area to see what education/training they require their assistants to have because a lot of them don't need any training at all. A lot of the--actually all of the assistants at my Vet's office are young girls going to school.
