Have they tried to put you on a birth control pill? Some of them help control the formation and rupturing of the cysts. And the surgery isnt too, too bad. From what I understand, they go in and scrape them off....kind of like a D&C, and they usually can do it in office, depending on your doctor, and they numb you, give you some pain medication and you get to go home and rest. Hopefully it wont come to that, but if it does, it will probably be worth it in the end. Cysts suck, and they are pretty painful to boot!

Birth control pills keep mine under control for the most part. I have had a couple rupture though and have had one removed. It isn't that bad.

I had a cyst removed at 17. All they did was make 3 small incisions and sucked it out. I was terrified cause I had never had surgery before and was scared they would come back. She was worried they may have to remove my ovary because the cyst was the size of a pear. All she did afterwards was put me on BC. She said it prevent them from growing as big as mine did. I was out of school (my senior year, mind you) for 3 and a half weeks. If I can handle surgery like that, anyone can. I'm a BIG baby

Oh, I hope everything turns out good for you, I'm not to much for surgery either, the only thing I ever had was D&C and Carpel tunnel surgery on both hands, that was the best thing I ever did for me. Good vibes from me to you.

I have also had a cyst removed, and it was really pretty easy--and I am the BIGGEST woos there is! Mine were very small, so it wasn't as involved as the surgery Oscarsmommy had.
Good luck and keep us posted.

{{{Prayers & vibes}}} that your situation improves on its own! Or that you find a remedy soon that isn't too uncomfortable....This must really interfere with your horse riding.
I once heard a very politically-incorrect saying, "if you've got t*ts or tires, you've got troubles", but sometimes it does seem too, too true... *humpf*

You are in my thoughts.
Think positive thoughts and try not to let yourself get too nervous about it.

Don't have any advice, but I will put you in my prayers
. I hope the doctors are able to spare you a surgery, but if they do have to operate, I hope it goes well for you! They can do amazing things with painkillers these days.

Good luck!

My mother had one removed rather suddenly one day. She was having a lot of pain, turns out she had a cyst the size of a grapefruit!
