I was told I should introduce myself. I'm not a big forum person, but so far, I think this one is great! I've gotten some really great advice (but it is distracting while I'm at work!)
I got my one and only cat when I was 8 years old - 18 years later she is still alive and kicking and lives with my mom where I grew up in Kentucky.
My husband and I live in Massachusetts and for my birthday my husband bought me kitty supplies and told me to pick out a cat for our new home together.
I got Nazhy - a skiddish lap kitty who was stranded in a feral colony. However, after seeing all the kitties in pounds without homes I started to feel horribly guiltly for not opening our home up to another kitty.
So within a week, we adopted Hayes, a 7month old kitten who was found outside at the pound.
They have been having some problems getting along, which makes me question my decision a bit, but thanks to the advice I've gotten here, they are slowly working things out and I think things will be okay between them. I love them to pieces.
