How much sleep do you get?

Thread Starter
I go to bed about 10.30pm and my alarm (being the two kitties) wakes me up at about 6.45am. So that's about 8 hours. On the weekends I get about the same, except I go to bed later and get up later (kitties permitting!). I can't stay in bed for much longer as I find it makes me feel awful for the whole day. My Dad can survive quite happily on about 6 hours sleep.

How much sleep do you get, and how much do you need?

I generally go to bed at around 1-2am, and get up at around 7, or 7:30am. So 6 or 5 hours... I used to get less when I volunteered full time and had a bunch of foster kitties.

I usually get 8 hours of sleep..some days when I have to work early though it's 6.

6-8 hours a night on the weekdays and about 4-5 on the weekends since I intern on Saturdays. I think Sundays are my only day I can actually sleep in atleast for the next few months.

around 7 hours during the week, and more on weekends!

My sleep is wicked erratic.....but last night i slept from 12:30 to 8am... not bad for me

I usually get around 8 hours on weekdays, I'm completely useless if I don't And on weekends I get around 10 hours (that's without kitty wake-up calls ).

I usually go to bed around 10 or 11pm and get up around 6:30 or 7am.

I have the same schedule for week and weekends. Since I'm a student, there's no such thing for me as a day off, even when I have no class!

actually, my alarm is set for 5:45am but it's on the radio, on a station that plays only classical music. It usually wakes me up slowly. The way I see it, if classical music doesn't wake me up, it means I need more sleep!

7 or 8 hours...I go to sleep around 11 or so and wake up 7 or a little before 7.

Sleep? What's that?? Never enough.
usually around 5 or 6 hours weeknites-- about the same weekends but i NEED about 8-12 hours-- the reason i dont sleep alot duringthe weekend is hubby is working 2 fulltime jobs and i cant sleep with him not in the house. So my body/mind stay awake until right before i know he should be home around 1230 or so. I need to go to bed around 10 at the latest to feel my best but it never works out like that. PB wakes me up everymorning kneading my hair after my alarm clock has gone off once around 6 am-- he starts using claws around 645 which means he wants me up then so he can eat. So thats usually when i get up. some weekends he will let me sleep in, but the kids dont-- they are up by 7 am every morning usually 530 on saturdays

Not ENOUGH!! I'm best with 8 hours sleep but it's usually 7 or less...go to bed at 11pm and get up at 6am. YUCK. I live for sleeping in on the weekends.

Usually around 8 hours during the work week, but on the weekends, about 10!

When I do bottle-babies- not hardly any at all. Because I do most of my writing at night- I usually get around 5-6 hours of sleep. I am up at 6:00 a.m. every morning regardless to feed all the animals. But first I have one cup of coffee.

When I was working... about 6 hours
Before I got the kitten... about 8 hours
After the kitten... none

I've been having a hard time sleeping. It's either the kitten waking me up, me worrying about the kitten, or the boy snoring that keeps me up. I probably had about 3 hours of sleep tonight.

I used to have a fairly regular sleep pattern but now that my life has totally changed it's VERY erratic. I've been going to sleep at really random times. It's either been really early in the morning like 4:30 or like last night when I finally got to bed at a normal time, 12:30. I can tell you that I really need to start sleeping more again. I'm going to totally run myself down.

Not nearly enough ! We actually get in bed about 8:30-9 or so, read for a bit then turn out the lights. We will usually get up the next morning anywhere between 7:30-8:30. That's 12 hours . But actual sleep during that time? Probably closer to 6 or 7 between waking up during the night and not being able to get back to sleep, a twitching/jerking hubby, cats insisting on sleeping on my head etc., etc.

As sickly as I tend to be, I need a lot of sleep. I normally go to sleep around 10 am and wake up at 6:30am during the week. On the weekends, I go to sleep around 11-ish and then Her Highness Cosette starts smacking me on the face around 7am .

Cupid wakes me up at 9-9:30am and I go to bed around 12-2am--so about 7-9.5 hours, but I'd say typically in the middle somewhere, like 8.

I go to bed around 10-10:30, because bf wakes up at 4am and I like to go to bed with him. I get up at 7. so I get like 8-9 hours of sleep a night, he gets 5-6 hours. And I'm always the tired one!

I alway's had trouble getting to sleep, every little sound bothered me, The Ambiem makes you go right to sleep and I do sleep longer at one time, but still wakeing up but longer in between, and one thing about it, you really don't feel like a drunk when you get up in the morning.

I average between 7 and hours during the week, more on the weekend, if I don't have to get up early for anything. On weeknights, I'm usually in bed between 10 and 10:30, and read or watch TV for a while. Most mornings I'm up by 6:00. Sometimes, I try hitting the snooze alarm, but it doesn't do any good trying to get back to sleep when I've got Peter standing on top of me poking his nose in my eyes and Grace on the pillow biting my ears!

I have a sleep disorder so I'm sort of all across the board. I am on medication for the night terrors / sleepwalking / nightmares, BUT, I still have issues during certain "hormonal times of the month"...

so when I'm riding the PMS rollercoaster, I'll be found running from my bed, down the stairs, for no reason. Or sitting up in bed seeing monsters in my bedroom. I TRY to get to bed by 9pm each night and then awake to a warm, furry alarm clock ( Snickers ) BUT, the dang sleep disorder is so awful I usually get like 6 hours of 'good' sleep.

I ENVY you people out there who fall asleep like *that*, sleep a full night, have no nightmares & don't run around your house in your underwear at night.

To answer both questions in one go: not enough, and as much as I can possibly get!!
