Anyone ever have any cats that like to chew wood? And is there anything I can put on it, I don't want them to get it in there stomach. Do they do that because there bored? They have tons of toys

My boy cat LOVES to chew wood & has since he was a baby. I spray any wood that he shows interest in with Grannick's Bitter Apple; he hates the taste.

Our 6-month old has decided his favorite "toy" is electrical cords!
He's not picky: computer cables, telephone cords, clock radios, fans, etc. We've already been the squirting water route and the pennies in a can trick. We even bought the a tube of bitter lime paste -- this only seems to slow him down but not stop him. Some of the light cords are nearly bitten clean in two! By this point, I almost worry MORE about an electrical short burning the house down than I do about him electrocuting himself.

Please, please, PLEASE... has anyone had a kitty who did this and found a way to break them of this habit. My husband is wanting to set a time limit and get rid of him if he is still cord chewing. I keep pointing out, "Who in their right mind would openly take on a cord chewer?!" And simply not sharing that piece of information is something I could never do. I'd have to be honest with any prospective new owner. Regardless, I'd rather find a way to stop him and be done with it. Any suggestions???? PLEASE HELP!

Cats chew on cords out of boredom. Does he have enough toys, room to climb and explore?
Also try bitter apple spray instead of lime. I hear it works better.

I have a cat that eats fabric and makes holes everywhere, do you have any solution to this very annoying problem?

How old is your cat? Teeth and gums checked out okay by vet? Cat have enough toys, room to exercise, lots of interaction with you?
