seperation anxiety

Do you think that Darwin has seperation anxiety? He meows constantly if no one is home, is attatched to me all day, and is ALWAYS in the same room as me. If I am not in the kitchen, he will not eat.
My dog is always making sure that Darwin is not alone though.

A little history please?
How long have you had him and what is his background?

My cat isnt obsessive about it - but the first two mns I had her she followed me room to room and watched me.

Is Darwin a maine coon? My cat is part maine coon and I hear that the following is a trait of theirs. Lily (my cat) is pretty quiet, though.

My Jack is the same way.. If I go outside to play with the dogs, he just sits at the door and "howls". He also will do this same special "howl" at odd times of the day/night, when I am not in his sight, so I have always thought this was his way of calling me...but I may be way off the mark.

Sure! I got Darwin from the shelter on Oct 2nd 2004, so I've had him for a little bit over a year. He is 3 years old. He was a stray when the shelter had him and he was diagnosed with an upper respitory virus last August. I don't know if he has any Maine Coon in him, he is classified as a domestic longhair at the vet. Looking through a cat encyclopedia, I noticed that he looked like a cat called a Himalayan Mountain Cat and has plenty of the 'friendly gene'
