My cat (Cody) was just diagnosed with this. I was hoping to get some ideas as to how to cope with this, and keep him healthy and happy. The Vet put him on the Hill's prescription canned food. Cody is 9 years old, and over weight (17.5 lbs), but he has been healthy up to last year. We moved twice, and added new animals to the family. The vet said now that everything is getting back to normal, and no more changes he should start to mellow out. If I keep him hydrated, and feed him the Rx food to keep the ph up in his urine he should be ok. Any other suggestions???
Thanks

From everything I have read and seen, the only treatment is the diet, antibiotics, clearing the urunary tract and as a last resort if the problem does not clear up, surgery. Most cats recover with the new diet and antibiotics.
