Ivory has been going to the vet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday ever since her right eye was removed.
She's been getting cold laser treatment on the nerve centers around her head and neck.

Today they measured her left eye and took a preasure reading, the size and preasure are going down!

That's good to hear. Sorry to ask, but were there any previous threads on her eye?

I find it so hard to keep up! My cat Elmo had an eye ulcer and the vet screwed up the surgery and now his eye is ruined forever

Oh NO! How did he screw it up?? When such things happen, can you sue the vet/clinic/hospital?

I am so sorry, I didn't realize that happened to Elmo (I knew about the ulcer, but not the screw up)

Thank you all.

Yes Sam, there are some threads.
To summarize though, Ivory was born with congenital glaucoma, and lost her right eye when she was 4 months old.
There really isn't a lot of long term treatment options as steriods are too risky.

We have been warned that she will eventually lose the other eye so we are basically working to allow her to keep it for as long as possible.
We opted for cold laser as an alternative to nothing at all.

We are all staying cautiously optomistic, but significant size and pressure reduction after only 3 months is a really good sign.

I have known several animals (cats & a dog) who have lost their sight. All have managed remarkably well. It sounds like ivory is responding well to the treatment, long may it continue!

Today I actually saw some of the improvement with my own eyes!
Her left eye has a permantly dilated pupil so even though you couldn't see it clearly, we'd assumed she was blue eyed since she's pointed.
Today, in the sun, I noticed the pupil is reacting to light a bit better, instead of fully open, it closed to about half!
I got to see her eye color for the first time, it's lavender.

Since you've returned, how is little Ivory now? Is her eye improved at all? She's such a cutie!

Wow, thread resurrection!

I am happy to report that her eye has stopped swelling, in fact, the size has been reduced to normal.
The tiny corneal clouding it had has gotten tinier, her pupil reacts very well to light now, but she still gets squinty in the sun.
Her treatments at this point in time have been stopped, all in all, she's done very, very well, much better than was expected, she'll get to keep her eye for now, but the threat of it's loss has been pushed way, way back.

And she looks so much like a chocolate point version of your Chay, I simply love those facial expressions.

The excellent care that you are giving Ivory seems to be paying off.

This is a good news update.

Yaaaaay! Glad to hear the good news! Haha, I'm sure she does look like Chay - he's a chocolate lynx, so he's just got a few extra stripes!
Ivory!
