Hello all. I'm new here and have a question. My cat Skeeter is a 4 year old short hair domestic tabby. She is usually very loveable and cute. However, yesterday she bit my mom hard on the arm and drew blood and bruised her up pretty bad. My mom said that she did not provoke Skeeter in any way, but I just don't know. She's never been an aggressive cat. She has done this one time before. When she did that before my mom was rustling a package. This time she was dragging a chair across the floor. The only thing I can figure is that maybe she's gotten scared and attacked due to that. I took her to the vet the first time she attacked and the vet didn't find anything wrong. She did blood work and everything. She did give her fluids and a steroid shot for good measure, but other than that she said nothing was wrong other than allergies. Other than that, my cat has gone nuts. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing her to get this aggressive? As for now, I'm keeping Skeeter away from the rest of my family by keeping her in my room. She really is a sweet cat, she just gets a wild hair every now and then. I was thinking of getting some Feliway as well since I've heard such good things about it. Any other ideas or suggestions? I read the sticky notes before I posted and none of the situations seem to fit.

Thanks,
Cassandra

Welcome Cassandra to TCS. I would definately get some feliway...but you may also want to contact a cat behaviorist to come and see if they can determine what may have caused your cat to react this way.
