Police Beat 64yr old Man in New Orleans

Has anyone else seen this?? I just watched it on the news. A cop on a horse was trying to position himself to where the horse blocked the view of his fellow cops beating this man's head into the wall.

I am appalled.

They said he was resisting arrest(which was for public intoxication)... but the man's head into a wall...

I watched a special on tv about 2 weeks ago on the NO police department. After seeing how corrupt they are that story being released did not suprise me one bit.

Yep, I saw it also. They need to do some major house cleaning of ALL the city employees down there. Seems that ALOT of them are corrupt, and on the take. Start with the Mayor and kick him to the curb first and keep on going.
But, what does anyone want to bet that is goes back to exactly the way it was before? I hope I am wrong, but it seems like if anyone says anything they are accused of being racist.

Wow, I must really be out of the loop. I never heard anything about the special on TV about the NO cops. That is so sad.
I couldnt believe what I was seeing. His head into the wall, multiple times. I know that this happens (unfortunatley) within many police forces around the world. I just never think about it till I see it. I dont see how people can do that to another person. It seems so inhumane.

There was a story on that special where a woman filed a complaint with internal afairs, she was dead by midnight that night.

Don't even get me started on their mayor. He needs to be out of there right as of yesterday. But I think it's going to take more than that to get NO cleaned up as far as their police force goes. FBI or someone needs to come in and take over and rebuild the entire force.

Oh this just keeps getting better
Apparently, the 64 year old man is a retired school teacher and has medical condition(s) and his meds make him a bit unsteady at times.
Looks like he wasn't even drunk.

I saw an update on the news tonight and the new NO police chief is trying to make it sound that these officers only did their job, because this man was resisting arrest for public intoxication....as if these cops did nothing wrong Now lets see, 3 against a 1- 64 y/o ill man??

If the problem was that he was drunk.. why didn't they give him a breathalizer test or something along those lines?? Isn't that standard procedure? Atleast they would have something to back their story up with. Not that I agree with the amount of force or anything. But this just makes them look like idiots.

The cops involved and charged held a press conference today, with their attorney doing all the talking. He said they maintained that they didn't use excessive force. I guess bouncing someone's head off a wall is normal to them. He also said he didn't want the public to convict the cops based on the videotape. Um, too late. It's pretty darn clear to me!

If that was not excessive force I'm a monkeys uncle I would expect them to take down a gun wielding nut like that but not an old man out to buy some cigerets thats what was said on the news here he had poped out to try and buy some ciggys how sick is that

Yeah, I saw an interview on Fox this morning with the lawyer for the cops. He was talking about how the old man was drunk, and could have walked down the street and been hit by a car, so they may have saved his life.

(Gee, how helpful!)

Also, he alleged that the old man ran into the police horse. Now whether that old man was drunk or not (and I have seen him on TV, too, and he seems very believable), there is no need to beat him! The lawyer also says the bleeding came from when the man was pushed to the ground and hit his face. Duh! And he said there was an FBI agent there, or one came along during the incident!

Also, they cannot check for blood alcohol level unless someone is charged with drunken driving or something similar. In other words, its ok to walk if your drunk, just don't drive! Can anyone say leave the old man alone!

I generally try to give the cops the benefit of the doubt, but this video looks awful. Unless they apprehended this guy while he was molesting a child or shooting an innocent person, he did not need that beating!
