I can relate to that. My best friend's mom died when we'd just started college. My mom accompanied me to the viewing, and had to calm me down, because the body I viewed was nothing like Mrs.G. when she was alive. It was really appalling, and J., my best friend, still talks about how bad it was. My husband, mother, sister, nieces and nephews already have their "orders": cremation, no viewing/funeral, and dispose of my ashes wherever they think best, but preferably in the backyard, near the Atlantic, or in the Appalachians.
