in 2 weeks I'm moving from the 1st floor to the 21st floor. How will my cat react? Will she be fascinated by the new bird's eye view? terrified? or will she lose interest in looking out the window, since she won't be able to see individual people?

I think it's so cute that you're worried. She'll probably FEEL a difference, but I'm sure she won't care in the long run. If anything, she'll love watching the birds go by and the new scenery!

Cats don't get vertigo from heights. However, they can and do fall. In fact there's a medical term -- "high-rise syndrome" -- for pets that fall from, you guessed it, high-rise buildings. If your new home has a balcony, you want to make sure that your cat can't fall off.

Enjoy the view but set up serious barriers for your cats so they won't fall.
