Hey Colby - I just sent you a PM about this. Great minds think alike.

Let me just say, I hate dieting! I went on a marriage retreat this weekend, and I cheated the entire time, not really intentionally, but there wasn't anything else to eat. The food tasted bad, and I'm sure it was just as bad for me. Plus, they had M&M cookies there, and I had 2 of them.

This diet is just so slow going. I think it's because I don't have much to lose, but it's still depressing when I get on the scale. I actually gained back a pound last week before I went on the retreat, and that was really frustrating. My husband won't let me quit yet though.

I have a friend who's doing Weight Watchers, and she lost 8 pounds in 3 weeks!

Oh, well. I'm going to give it a few more weeks, and if it doesn't pick up, I'll find something else to do.

(it was before they had the soups and bars and stuff..... just a yukky milkshake twice a day and a runner bean for dinner!! haha) Oh and AP - nice to hear a bloke is actually on it!! (as opposed to just mocking us women!! hahaha
)

Hopefully it gets better Dawn!

I have been eating better & exercising with my Tony Little's Gazelle. It has worked wonders. In the past month I have lost 6 pounds & I have cheated occasionally.

Looks like our weight loss plans have be panning out for the most part then.. I've lost 9 lbs so far
I can't wait to get started on Weight Watchers too..I figure that combined with daily trips to the gym should get me closer to my goal at a good rate.

Ooooo no fair!! C'mon people..... gimme some tips!!! I have ZERO time to go to the gym though I would love to, but as it is I don't get in at night till around 8;30 - which by that time Im too tired to do anything except cook the dinner and chill out! The trouble is I don't really eat THAT much.... I have cereal for breakfast.... then a roll or sandwhich and some fruit at lunch, then just a normal evening meal like Chilli, or chicken, or Spaghetti etc.... I don't know what to cut out without getting hungry you know?!?!? I guess most of the problem is cos I have to eat my main meal late in the evening which is not really good.... but I don't have a choice in that!! UGH....

Rhea,

I know exactly what you mean! I have to get up at 5:30 a.m. to start getting ready for work and I get home around 6:30. So after cooking and eating it's about 8:00. I've got to have some time to relax and then it's bedtime!

It sucks doesn't it!! I've thought about getting a excersize video to do at home - but I know thats not going to happen cos its just too easy when you get home that late to just forget about it or find good reasons why you don't have time!! Hopeless!!! (Besides the fact that Hubby would sit there watching LHAO at me!!
hahaha)

I also get up at 5:30 and get home about 6 pm. Fortunately the hubby does all of the cooking - he is home 1st. I eat as soon as I get home. I sit and watch the news and then do dishes. After dishes I go to the basement and do 10 to 20 minutes on the Gazelle. It is a good workout & I can do it in front of the TV (it has a place to hold the converter) Hubby is not allowed in the basement until the workout is complete!

What is this "Gazelle" and where can I learn about it? I have a treadmill but get absolutely board with it.

I saw it on an infomercal 1st & then on the shopping channel. Tony Little is a fitness guru who has a few different machines. The good thing about the Gazelle is it is impact free. You use a gliding motion. It works both upper & lower body. It comes with a great video also.

Ady...just wanted to tell you I finally got my Gazelle delivered!! I haven't gotten it out of the box yet, though...but between going to funerals, ( Ive had two recently to go to) and working, and having a terrible cold, I haven't had time yet. I am looking forward to trying ikt out soon, though.
I am glad to hear everyone's diets are going pretty well....hang in there Dawn, they say the slower you take it off, the longer you keep it off!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I did end up losing another pound, so I'm down about 4 in 2 and a half weeks. Which I guess is pretty good. But I don't feel like I've lost any weight, especially after I cheated at MOPS yesterday. But I'll keep on trying...

Debby, let me know if you like the Gazelle. This is the first time I've ever heard of them (on TCS)

Dawn, that is fabulous!! Way to go! Hang in there, you're going to get to your goal

Can you believe my goofy husband bought me a burrito from Taco Bueno last night? I had already had my yummy shake, and he went to get his dinner. Said he got an extra for me. Of course I had to eat it, or it would have been wasted. It sure tasted good though.
