I have a computer helper tonight! Questions about other cats picking on her?

My sweet Savannah is sitting here next to me watching me type. I love this girl so much. I feel bad for her though. The boys pick on her bad! She is squinting out of one eye because someone picked on her today. She is so little compared to the boys and they know it. She hisses and spits at them if they come close, but when the chase is on, she loses every time. She loves human attention and purrs the minute you pet her. She loves playing fetch, but the boys won't let her. They get in the way and steal her mice.

I am half tempted to let my daughter take her to her father's house. She would thrive as an only cat. When do you put the welfare of you cat before your own need to keep them with you? I can't put her in a room by herself, she shreds the carpet trying to get out, or in, whatever the case is.

Any advice??

That is a really tough question. I can relate to how much you love her and it would be terribly difficult to give her up.

Is she only attached to you or would she be able to become attached to your daughter? Have you tried the Feliway plugin?

I honestly don't know what to say. Your cats are all so beautiful.

I guess you will just have to follow your heart and your gut instinct.

She loves anyone who will pet and pay attention to her.

I could call the breeder, but honestly don't think they would even answer my email. They haven't in he past when I sent "updates". I guess I really need to think of my what's best for my girl? She just jumped back up on the bed..... maybe I will find her comb? She LOVES to be brushed....

Poor Savannah! She is such a beautiful girl, I see how it would be hard to give her up. At least if you have to, she will still be in the family.
I wish I had some answers for you. We are going through the same thing with Pearl being tormented unmercifully by Pepper and Scooter. She stays in the closet most of the time. I feel so bad for her. She was abused before I got her, and I want so badly for her to live peacefully. Things have gotten a lot worse since Fred died, and there is an ongoing battle for the alpha cat position.
The others like to sleep on my bed, and I will close the door when they are sleeping so I can spend some quality time with Pearl. She does not play, but she loves to be brushed, so I give her treats and brush her.

That is a tough situation. IF you know that she'll be loved and looked after by your daughter & her dad, then that's probably a good solution. At least she'll still be in the family, and she'll be living a more peaceful life. Not that I'm suggesting it'll be easy to give her up. But you know it's for her best, if your boys just won't leave her alone.
