So, Leo has had a little sniffle for the past day or so and I've been keeping a close eye on him, but today, he vomited once and then hacked up some phlegm. Keep in mind that Leo tends to have a sensitive tummy and he's prone to hairballs, both of which are monitored and handled with our vet. He's not dehydrated, he's sleeping right now but is still totally alert and responsive, I palpated him and he doesn't seem to have anything where it shouldn't be. I only got home a half hour ago and I haven't seen him eat or drink in that time, but I'll be on the lookout. I've made an appt with the vet for Monday since she said it didn't seem very serious as of right now and to call the Emergency Vet if it gets much worse or he becomes immobile or very dehydrated or doesn't touch his food in the next 48-72 hours.
Is it possible that he could have like a post-nasal drip that's upsetting his tummy? In which case, I'll bring him into the bathroom when I shower and see if the steam makes him feel any better. What else should I watch out for? And finally, should I go ahead and put him on his bland diet? We use the Hill's prescription occassionally when his stomach is very much upset, otherwise he eats Cal Natural.
