The Ig Nobel Prize was just awarded to Gregg Miller, the creater of fake dog testicles. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051007/...e_st/ig_nobels

This would be funny if it wasn't so sad. Miller said that he created these testicle implants to improve the self-esteem of neutered dogs. Please! If anything, he did it to improve the machismo of the dog owners!

I find it funny! Even the other awardees made me laugh.
What's the Ig infront of Nobel Prize stand for?

Ig Nobel is a play on words -- kind of the anti-Nobel prize.

Discionary.com defines ignobel as:
"adj 1: completely lacking nobility in character or quality or purpose;"

I just had me a good laugh, Dogs dont care how they look give me a break!! Especialy since thier makeup is determined by hormones the effect of having "fake" ball would do nothing for them, just make a dent in the owners pocket!!

hehe I read those at work today and nearly had a fit trying not to laugh out loud.
The doggy "implants" are the silliest! I can see using something like that on a human..I'm sure that any man would feel better having an implant than nothing after cancer or an accident.... But a DOG? Like the dog even knows they're gone! LOL

I also liked the congealed tar dripping at a rate of one drip every 9 years. hehe That's a good one.

I had a good laugh over this too! Hmm... that tar experient sure sounds fasinating . Um, why would someone even think of that in the first place?!
My favourite spoof awards are the Darwin Awards, given each year to those who have brought themselves attention for their acts of stupidity.

I love the Ig Nobel awarded a couple yrs ago to the ppl who invented the software to detect a cat on your computer kbd, it's hilarious!!! Just scroll dn on the page and it is there - or type in cat and do a search. There is also a Kitten on thre Piano Ragtime piano on their site, v. cute!
