hi everyone!

i would just like some opions in this matter. My kitten Zephyr is just over 3 months old and he is the biggest suck ever. i admit i do baby him a lottt but its hard not to! im home all day so hes constantly on my lap when im sitting down or at my feet where ever i go. the problem is when i put him down and try to do other things he literally cries at me untill i pick him up. if i shut the door to go to the washroom he criesss. the only way im able to do chores like do dishes is if i put a chair beside me so he can sit on it and feel closer to me lol.
Now this is my first time owning a kitten when we got Zeus he was already full grown.. So is this normal kitten behaviour? or should i be doing something to break this habit? If its normal and he grows out of it then thats fine. althought i loveeee the fact hes so affectionate. i dont like the crying when im not paying attention to him!
THanks

Probably, our youngest kitten is about 3 1/2 months old and she crys till you pick her up. Is your cat an only one? If so, he wants someone to play with and YOUR it!

It's perfectly normal!, he wants to be with his mum thats all

You should be in my house when my two get started meowing!. Normally Rosie does it when she wants a treat, and Sophie does it to get into my bedroom, which i have to say is upstairs and i can be downstairs and i still go up to open the door to let her in it

Enjoy it, theres so many members would love what you have

Cat moms DO rejects their kittens when they are of age. So if you do it carefully and wise, you dont need to have bad conscience.

Is she alone or is Zeus still around? How do these two with each other?

Lets proceed to think and talk about this.

My 3 kittens like to sit on the back of my chair when I am on the computer. It is either that or they are at my feet, chewing on my toes. Last night Stinker actually was purched on my shoulder while I was on.

thanks for the replies
belive me i love him being so affectionate i wouldnt want him any different.. hes just the sweetest thing. I still have zeus so zephyrs not lonely and has someone to play with. him and zeus play a lotttt at night but zeus is really lazy and sleeps most the day. thats when zephyr is attached to me! Its just the saddest little meow u would ever hear when i put him down to do other things tho and thast what concerns me

when i take zephyr over to play with his sister which a friend of mine has he doesnt want anything to do with me lol. him and his sister play for hours then nap together. and if i even pick zephyr up he just leaves to go back to his sister. then i feel sad lol

i know i have taken the role as his mother. the night we brought him home he wasnt crying at all like he missed his cat mother. he warmed right up to me and just settled right in. where as the cat mother and the rest of the kittens were crying all night looking for him ( my sister has his mother so she told me this)

anyhow i dont know if a lot of this is relavent but its just some little things i have noticed about him and about his family!

Yes, of course. This is why this is a problem. Otherwise it would not be a problem no?

One idea could perhaps be than to get another kitter roughly of Zephyrs age! So you would have a trio...

I saw advice: if you have an older cat, and want to buy a kitten as his companion, consider buying two kittens! So they will play mostly with each other - and only a little with the old man/girl. In this way, with a liiitle luck, everyone will be happy.

This may be the case here... *smile*

You're his mum and his playmate ... His sister never has other needs except eating, sleeping -- and of course playing with him. You're older cat likes to sleep, and I am sure when he's awake they have the time of their lives together. It's just too bad you're kitty doesn't have a younger playmate.

Even still tho - My kittens, 13 and 15 weeks, are still meowers. Lucy is my shadow, and when I put her down, she just follows me. I'm lucky she is content at my feet when I am doing dishes!

Her brother gets "scared" maybe, or lonely, when his siter and I are laying down watching TV, and he gets done eating in the kitchen and doesn't see anyone right away ... LOL ...

What's one to do? Hehehe

Sorry for the huge quote above, I just tried the quick post---I'm a newbie to this site but have had cats all my life. Just out of curiosity, have you tried leaving tv on as a means of socialization for the kitten, find something else to capture her attention?

Oh, but based on my own prior experiences with my 1 year old, Sofia, I would not recommend "Animal Planet" - I came home from work one day and she was watching tv as usual and then I saw her stalk and attack my 19 1/2 year old cat, Sabina. I didn't know what caused this, she had never done that before. Then I saw a show come on as a repeat that day on lions living in the wild.

Might sound goofy, but it worked.

Good luck.
