For the past 2 mornings, I have awoken to find pee all over the back of the loveseat where Eponine always hangs out (that's how I know it's Eponine doing this and not Cosette).

Y'all may remember Eppie had a UT about 3 weeks ago, but I took her to the vet right away and she took all her meds. Do y'all think her UTI could be back? How does that happen after they've just taken antibiotics?

I'm making an appt. with the vet for today as soon as they open up. Just wanted to know what this sounds like to y'all...

I really hope my sweet little girl is OK, but I'm worrying now
.

Sometimes with UTI's, one round of antibiotic isnt enough. Anytime I have had a cat with a UTI, I have the urine re-tested once the antibiotics are finished, this way I know we have cleared it up.

Ooh, didn't know that. I guess it's the same way with us humans sometimes.

I called the vet's office and they are waiting for the vet to come in at 9am. They said more than likely he'll just order another round of antibiotics for Eppie, so hopefully that'll do the trick AND save her from the stress of another vet visit!

None of mine have had UTI's so I don't have any advice, but wanted to let you know I'll be thinking about you and Eppie! Hope your sweet little girl is better soon.

I know how you feel I was just logging on to my computer when Bobber came in and peed on the carpet (the one I just shampooed on monday!!). I'm going to watch her as I also shampooed the family room carpeting this morning and perhaps she didn't like getting her paws wet to her journey to the litter box.
Simply maddening-Hope Eppie improves over round #2

when Mouse was sick, bladder stones were one of the things they found. the vet told me some cats are prone to them. it may be that Eppie is prone to UTIs - you might try adding cranberry pills to her daily routine...that helps with people who are prone to them.

I've been having problems with my cat Thunder peeing on the floor and couch recently also. He is on his 2nd antibiotic and it doesn't really seem to be getting better. He isn't peeing on the floor anymore but I've locked him into one half of the house, so he only has access to rooms without rugs. He's going pee once a day lately, is that normal? I'm trying to finish these antibiotics and if its not better I'm going to take him to a different vet for a second opinion because no urine samples were ever taken.

Poor Thunder
I hope he's better soon (for his sake and the rugs' sake!).

Gail- I hope Bobber is OK! Maybe she's just POd about the wet carpet- you know how finicky cats are!

Laureen, you're right about some cats being prone to UTIs. I've always given the girls these cranberry treats for helping their urinary tracts, but last time I took Eppie in, the vet said I should give her the threats 2-3 times a day, so that's what I've been doing. Hopefully this 2nd (and longer) round of antibiotics will do the trick!

Thank you everyone for the kind words
. TCS is the greatest!
